Did you buy enough toilet paper during this lockdown? Are you worried it might not be enough? The answer to your questions could be answered by this online toilet paper calculator! Amazing, isn't it?

The COVID-19 pandemic has created great scare to everyone in the world. Cities after cities have enforced community quarantine and lockdowns that made people very anxious until they resorted to panic buying in fear that they might not be prepared or may not have enough goods stored during the community quarantine.

Grocery shelves were emptied off of food and basic hygiene tools like isopropyl alcohol, hand sanitizers, and ever toilet papers. As the coronavirus forces people to stay indoors, toilet papers are also one of the items that they started hoarding.

That is why student Ben Sassoon and artist Sam Harris thought of creating a new website to calculate how long your stash of toilet papers will last you during this pandemic. Both of them were based in London.

They thought about this idea when they were talking about how much toilet paper they normally use, and how it will change due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, the creation of the website howmuchtoiletpaper.com.

The layout is just easy. Users enter the number of toilet paper rolls they currently have and the number of times they visit the restroom. It is automatically calculated and you can see how many days your stash of toilet paper will last you.

It also has an advanced setting wherein you can input specific details, customizing the number of wipes per trip, the number of sheets you use per wipe, the sheets in one roll, and how many people lives in your house.

It is proven to be useful since it already has more than 2 million visitors and users, according to the website. They have documented that an average person actually has a 500% more toilet paper than they need for the quarantine. That is 5x the amount one person can use during the lockdown.

The main purpose of this website is to reduce the panic buying and hoarding of toilet papers around the world, which has begun as people started feeling anxious and scared of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The website also leaves a message to its users that they need to stop being selfish because not everyone is capable of going to the store and buy at least one toilet paper due to lack of supplies.

The American Forest & Paper Association, an industry group representing the paper production said that because of the sudden demand in toilet papers, the production industry has to work harder to meet the raised need.

Just last week some retailers have doubled their orders, the Angel Soft and Quilted Northern toilet paper maker Georgia Pacific said. Meanwhile, retailers from the U.S. and Canada have thought of solving this problem by limiting the number of toilet papers a customer can buy in a single trip.

So the next time you go to the grocery store, think first before panic buying because you might be buying more than what you need and leaving other people with nothing to buy. Do not be selfish and give them a chance to survive this quarantine as well.
