A few months ago, Science Times reported the possibility of using ultraviolet light technology in eliminating bacteria and viruses. Various technologies have already incorporated UV light into their products to help fight the spreading of deadly diseases these days. One of these products is the UVMask by UM Systems.
UVMask is the first face mask with a UV-C technology designed to be one of the most effective personal protective equipment (PPE) on the market that is effective for all airborne pathogens like COVID-19 and influenza.
UM Systems continuously tests the UVMask because they are committed to advancing their technology and making sure to give higher protection levels against pathogens. Their latest SGS test report is all about the UVMask's effectiveness in inactivating H1N1 particles, which caused the swine flu in 2009.
96% Effectiveness Against The H1N1 Virus
In cooperation with SGS, UM Systems conducted tests on the Sterile-VortexTM in UVMask. The results recently came back and yield a 96% effectiveness against the H1N1 influenza A virus in just 0.08 seconds, which is even faster than a blink of an eye.
The H1N1 virus us the same virus that caused the 2009 swine flu, and it also shares several similarities with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the tests are a good indication that UVMask is also effective against COVID-19.
The UV-C technology inside the UVMask impressively inactivates 96% of H1N1 viruses within 0.08 seconds after exposure, which makes it the fastest UV-C product superseding the Dutch's UV product that inactivates coronavirus in three seconds, which is 37.5 longer than UVMAsk.
How Does It Work?
The initial findings suggest that UVMask is exceptionally effective in inactivating the H1N1 virus and other airborne pathogens. So how does the UVMask kills these deadly viruses?
First of all, the UVMask is a double protection face mask with a high-intensity UV light module and has a Sterile-VortexTM technology that inactivates all airborne pathogens.
The air enters the filters of the UVMask then disinfects by the Sterile-VortexTM before entering the nose. This process is repeated over and over as long as the person wears the UVMask.
The viruses are being inactivated inside the vortex, where it uses UV-C technology. Also, since it uses electricity, the UVMask is a chargeable face mask, so always make sure that it is fully charged it when used outdoors or at work.
