Humans on Mars: SpaceX CEO Elon Musk Says People Will Reach the Red Planet in 5 to 10 Years

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said his aspiration for humans to reach Mars would turn into reality within the next five to 10 years. A report from The Bharat Express News specified that Musk has made it clear that he indeed wants humans to reach Mars.

The business magnate has been chasing the ambitions for many years, and it seems that his aerospace company will soon make it a reality. When it is done, it will happen in the next five years to a decade.

In a recent interview, the executive was asked the same question. Specifically, he was thrown the question when he does believe SpaceX is to land on the Red Planet.

The response of this Tesla and SpaceX CEO was that, in the best-case scenario, his space company might be able to land a man on Mars within the next half-decade. And, in the worst-case scenario, it may last another decade.

SpaceX Soon to Make Musk's Dream a Reality

This remains credible, given that the argument is about sending breathing, living human beings to another's surface planet, a perspective that would have been considered a joke if humans had lived just about 50 years back.

Now there are large, towering rockets such as the Starship of SpaceX, which may soon make the dreams of Musk, as well as the others' a reality, Zee News specified in a similar report via the MSN News.

It's not like this entrepreneur was overdoing his optimism. Musk paused for a few seconds after Lex Fridman, a podcaster, asked him that question during the interview.

He said the best case is about a half-decade, but the worst case, as earlier mentioned, is approximately a decade, statements that reportedly irritated all aficionados' interest.

Introducing a Timescale for Human Colonization of Mars

In a previous Time magazine interview, it was indicated that this is not the first time Musk is introducing a timescale for Mars' human colonization.

He said he would be astonished if humans would not get to "land on Mars within five years." Since then, it appears that the timeline has been made substantially more precise.

It needs to be emphasized, nonetheless, that Musk is well-known for not meeting deadlines for his projects. Rightfully so, his aims are often considered "borderline irrational," at least until the public witnesses his accomplishments.

One such aspiration is to land a human on Mars. It is a totally different thing to construct a rocket huge enough to do so.

Taking Advantage of Opportunity to Commend Starship

In a similar report, KnowTechie specified that Musk appeared to be accountable for the second half. In his recent interview, the company executive explained how "rocket engineering" is one of the variables for such a massive undertaking.

He took advantage of the opportunity to commend Starship, explaining it as "the most intricate and advanced rocket" ever constructed. He described the development as the "real next level."

Musk said that level of optimization on Starship is crucially for the mission. He claimed that the rocket could decrease the cost per ton for each orbit, and eventually, the cost per ton to Mars' surface.

Furthermore, this will be crucial to the success of the mission. Certainly, this is not the lone element that will affect a manned mission to the Red Planet. Like other agencies that are part of the project, Musk seems to have plenty of time to work it all out.
