Engineering experts recently completed the development of the modern-day race boat known as 'RaceBird.' Next phase of the improvement will be water testing to measure the boat's full potential and notch up any features that need to be changed.

RaceBird is a single-pilot electric boat that will challenge other contenders at the prestigious race called E1 World Electric Powerboat Series.

In recent years, it has been known that E1 considers RaceBird as their official racing vessel for these types of competition.

The E1 World Electric Powerboat Series is a renowned championship race solely dedicated to electric boats. The program was founded by Alejandro Agag, the racing entrepreneur behind other championship series such as Formula E and Extreme E.

Agag's electric boat race is co-founded by Formula 1 expert and ex-director of McLaren motorsport technologies Rodi Brasso.

The founders commenced their first league back in 2020. The championship offered a new and exciting platform that widened the industry of motorsports.

The E1 World Electric Powerboat Series is among the few sports that allow a new kind of race while at the same time promoting and developing sustainable innovation that targets marine technologies.

E1 announced last February 2021 their collaboration with other firms, including Victory Marine and SeaBird Technologies, to create a better model of vehicle. Among their popular products is the RaceBird. The same electric boat was also selected as the challenger against other competitors in the future world championship series organized by E1.

In September 2021, E1 developers launched the complete and full-sized version of the RaceBird to the public. According to a report by Elektrek, the boat is capable of moving around water bodies with its cutting-edge technical circuits.

RaceBird can run through water surfaces at 50 knots, or about 93 kilometers per hour. Further improvements for the electric boat's speed are expected, but there are no other announcements from E1's developers regarding a change in its displacement capacity.

Today, E1's first drive on the water was carried out as part of the pre-race refinement for the upcoming championship series of the first-ever electric boat race next year.

E1 showcased RaceBird in their latest thirty-second video clip. According to the firm, RaceBird is 100 percent pure electric and powered by a 150 kilowatt Kriesel battery. Mercury Racing made the outboard motor equipped to the boat.

The acceleration and torque of the electric boat were demonstrated in the video. The displacement allows the vehicle to run and glide over the waters smoothly and without any delays through its capability.

Further projects from E1 include the creation of electric buoys and other marine instruments. The main focus of the recent water testings is to provide more data on how the materials would be useful for future championships, such as placing imaging mediums for the event's live broadcast.

The E1 World Electric Powerboat Series will commence in the spring of 2023.
