A Walmart shopper recently discovered a snake named "Wolverine" as it was chilling on a shelf on a Bloomington, India branch of the store earlier this month.
A report from The Sun specified that the python was turned over to staff from the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control, where he was duly called as such.
According to the animal control center, it is not clear how the snake ended up on a shelf at Walmart although they have yet to seek any answer as they say, "Wolverine is not talking."
The center also said that they are close to discovering a "home for good" for Wolverine after his story was spread in the news.
'Chillin' on a Shelf
Sharing the discovery of the python, Walmart said in a statement writing, "Happy Tuessssssday. Meet our little friend, WOlverine." The store also described the young python in its written account as having been found at its local "Walmart chilling on a shelf." It remains unclear how Wolverine got there, although it was a good thing a Good Samaritan saw the python and got him to safety at the shelter.
Also, as indicated in the statement, the python is officially "off his stray hold," and he is in the market for a "home for good." More so, the python would do best with an expert snake owner.
Walmart described the snake species as "a bit stressed and slightly spicy," as well. More so, is growing, used to be thought of as being controlled, not to mention, is likely to be able to relax more in a calmer environment. Nonetheless, not all people are interested in adopting Wolverine.
People Urged to Adopt Wolverine
At first, the agency shared a post on social media, telling about Wolverine and urging the public to adopt him. People responded to the agency's request and finally, Wolverine found his pet parents. Specifically, it informed about the same through an edit to the post saying, the python has been adopted.
Since the post was shared a few days ago, it has gained over 2,100 shares. It has accumulated a lot of comments as well, from people, a related Hindustan Times report said.
While some users of the social media commented while the post was originally shared, a few did so, after the agency posted an update on the adoption of the snake.
Are Pythons Dangerous?
According to a Reptile Knowledge report, all pythons are non-venomous, not to mention, that most of these species pose no harm to humans. Nonetheless, a handful of species certainly grow big enough to strangle and kill owners.
These comprise the reticulated and Burmese pythons, along with a couple of other species more. Essentially, all of the species within this snake family are non-venomous. Meaning, they don't have any venom that can cause harm to humans.
Pythons are killing their prey through constriction, literally by squeezing to death the animal. On the other hand, venomous snakes are killing their prey by biting and injecting venom through teeth or hollow fangs.
