SpaceX boss Elon Musk recently announced a new name for their company's internet device. The default name of the Starlink WiFi people will have in the future will be 'Stinky.'
Starlink Router's Default ID is Stinky
Elon Musk brings yet another headliner in the second quarter of the year. Last weekend, the man behind the world's fastest internet provider, Starlink, said their WiFi device would have a default name of 'Stinky.'
Elon Musk does not fail to bring a few good laughs once in a while, especially during the pandemic and now amidst the crisis brought by the conflict between Russia and its neighboring country Ukraine.
Throughout the past months, the billionaire provided many insights regarding space ventures, artificial technologies, automotive, and even the war initiated by Vladimir Putin. In recent updates, Elon Musk also acquired a large portion of the largest social media network Twitter.
Elon Musk dropped a new piece that humors not just his followers but also the customers of Starlink and its prospects. Last Saturday, the tech giant announced that their firm plans to change the default Wifi router name of Starlink, The Byte reports.
In a tweet, Elon Musk revealed that the internet's provided router would obtain a new name, with Stinky as a possible option.
According to some, this change is part of Starlink's promotional scheme that would be relayed to the neighborhood of users effortlessly. As they set up the new router, the WiFi connection would appear on the devices of other people in the vicinity and is expected to provide a good laugh for those who know.

Bizarre Product Names by Elon Musk
However, there is no apparent reason the SpaceX CEO wants to change their router's name. In the social app TikTok, people are fond of calling their pets Stinky, so Musk might have thought that router devices are like one. Others say it somewhat serves as an 'insult' to the haters of the billionaire and his companies.
The bottom line is that we would never know until Elon Musk explains it, similar to how he gives details for his hard-to-understand and sometimes offensive jokes.
Not everyone chuckled at the Stinky announcement. Some concerned social media users were not happy about Elon Musk's witty humor, with some even calling him out about firing SpaceX employees who voiced their status inside the firm.
We will see in the future whether the Starlink router devices will get a new default name or not. But it is quite possible considering how Elon Musk thinks about his brands.
Throughout his enterprises, some products were already given bizarre names by the billionaire. Perfect examples are the spaceport drone ships called 'Of Course I Still Love You' and 'Just Read the Instructions,' the space capsule series 'Dragon,' and even the automotive company he is famously known for, Tesla.
