AI Chatbot Flirt

Just last year, software engineer Anthony Riera built an AI model to communicate with his 35 matches across the popular online dating application Tinder. According to the Wall Street Journal, he notes how AI was quite dumb as it was lost for half of the time. However, there were also times when the algorithm worked surprisingly well. In fact, one of his conversations led one of his matches to ask him out.

Riera noted that this project was a social experiment of his. He also shared snippets of the conversations. In several cases, the AI started off by relaying questions such as whether they were married or not. Riera shared his code publicly for others to try out and find ways to revitalize chats that are usually non-starters.

Betches Media co-founder Jordana Abraham notes how no one finds a "hey" interesting. Abraham mentions how such a greeting is similar to a generic cover letter that is not specifically designed for one's company. It makes one wonder if the person behind the greeting cares or not.

Abraham is the host of a dating podcast entitled "U Up?" The team Abraham handles many weekly messages from the audience looking for relationship and dating advice. Abraham notes how many of these individuals try to get dates. She also notes how transitioning from the online dating app into reality could be one of the hardest parts of dating.

Data Scientists and Developers Come Up with AI Flirt Support to Help Construct Flirty and Other Situational MessagesAside from such innovation, data scientists Dmitri Mirakyan and Jeffrey Li have come up with an AI flirt support system known as YourMove AI. The system generates funny, flirty, and formal texts based on user-generated information.

According to the WSJ, Mirakyan noted that YourMove AI is designed to bring life into early talks that could seem uninspiring and dull.

The AI tool provided openers and responses for conversations within an online dating application. Asking for a "flirty introduction message," for example, could lead to an opener like "Hi there. I couldn't help but notice you earlier and I just wanted to say hi. Could I buy you a drink?"

The developers note that such messages are simply starting points. Most individuals adjust the text before sending it.

Other than this, another AI support known as Keys is there to help singles foster connection despite struggling with finding the right words to say. According to the WSJ, users of this system may install a keyboard within their phone that could serve as an emoji keyboard of some sort. From there on, individuals could choose messages for typical scenarios, such as conversation starting, date rescheduling, or even breaking up.

CEO and co-founder of Keys, Taylor Margot, notes how the platform is about using words to generate intimacy, be it through stories, emotions, or humor.

The more advanced situations, such as breaking up, are included in Key's premium subscription plan, which costs $14.99 per month. Subscribers can also avail of a dating coach.

Each tool depends on a model of artificial intelligence from Open AI, which is the research lab behind ChatGPT.
