Elaine Davidson, who is recognized as the woman with the most number of piercings in the world, appeared on the TV show "This Morning" with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. She has over 3,500 piercings inside her vagina and has already covered her entire body with over 15,000 piercings. Despite the weight of the jewelry on her body, which is estimated to be three kilograms, she stated her goal to reach 20,000 piercings to retain her world record title.
The woman who was originally from Brazil revealed that she has 3,500 piercings in her vagina, which she has to get done in America since it's not available in the UK. When the host asked about any potential infections caused by the piercings, the woman replied that proper care is necessary to avoid such problems.
Enduring the Pain
Davidson stated that she uses vinegar for maintenance and has a fantastic doctor who is very understanding. In response to the question about the piercings falling out, she explained that since they are inside her body, they are secure and cannot fall out. Dermot jokingly asked if she ever wakes herself up from jingling due to the piercings while sleeping, to which the woman humorously replied that it depends on who she is sleeping with, following a report from The Daily Mail.
She also discussed the varying reactions she receives from others and said that she has grown used to both positive and negative comments. She explained that her interest in being part of the Guinness World Records started when she was young and that it was her passion and dream. Eventually, she managed to meet the people from the Guinness World Records and was accepted into the family, which she described as one of the best things that have ever happened to her.
Davidson went on to say that the piercings no longer cause her pain and that she can even perform the piercings on herself now. She has a friend in America who assists her with personal piercings since it's not something that is done in the UK for genital piercings.
Possible Risk of Piercings
She first achieved the record for the most number of piercings in May 2000, when a Guinness World Records official found 462 piercings on her body, including 192 on her face. In addition to her piercings, the woman also experiments with different hair colors, braids, and tattoos on her face and body.
She is known for her unique and quirky lifestyle, including sleeping on a bed of nails, performing firewalking, and lying on broken glass. Additionally, she holds a black belt in Judo, which she earned while in Japan. Elaine has been a regular performer at the Fringe Festival for more than 20 years and is famous among the people in Edinburgh.
American Family Physician mentioned that, occasionally, body piercing can result in the transmission of harmful diseases, like HIV and hepatitis. Moreover, there are additional issues that may arise, including bleeding, swelling, scarring, and allergic reaction. Individuals with tongue or lip piercings may also experience tooth chipping and may harm their gums. Additionally, there is a risk of accidentally swallowing jewelry that is placed in the mouth or nose.
