Britain will be launching its first UFO tour at an iconic area where 17 spooky sightings were observed over 40 years ago.
Rendlesham Forest UFO Sightings
The Daily Star notes that Rendlesham Forest, also known as "Britain's Roswell," was once known because of UFO sightings.
Per History, in December 1980, the members of the US Air Force who were stationed at two bases of the British Royal Air Force in Bentwaters and Woodbridge reportedly saw odd and colorful lights looming over Rendlesham Forest. A man who went to the forest for further investigation claimed to have spotted a spacecraft of some sort.
The following day, others confirmed that there were elevated radiation levels and nearby tree damage. After several days, there were more reported sightings.
However, the British Ministry of Defense and the US Military have rejected the claims regarding spacecraft and aliens following these incidents. The Defense Ministry reportedly assured that there are no pressing threats to security.
UFO Tour
The forest already has a nature trail that circles the area where the lights were seen in the 1980s. But now, Gary Heseltine, an ex-detective, is set to take this to the next level.
As per the Sun, Mr. Heseltine will be guiding the public through the forest in Suffolk as part of Britain's first-ever UFO tour. It follows his book release, titled Non-Human the Rendlesham Forest Incidents: 42 Years of Denial. In this writing, Mr. Heseltine aims to shed light on the politics surrounding the spooky incident.
MailOnline reports that Mr. Heseltine expressed that the many aspects of the incident are different in vital points. After conducting nearly 14 years' worth of research into this incident, no other case comes to mind that has been a great subject of disinformation and that damages "internal witness political infighting," he added.
His scheduled tours are in June 3 and 4. Participants are limited to 25 people and will be asked to pay a fee of £30 per person.
Famous UFO Sightings
While this 1980 incident is a well-known one, it is not the only famous UFO sighting incident. History notes that at November 1989's end, Belgian citizens allegedly saw a huge triangle-shaped UFO looming over the sky. However, while there have been reports of the sighting, there is no evidence to back up the UFO.
Nevertheless, after a few months, there were several reports of new sightings. These were confirmed by two military ground stations. A pair of fighter jets were deployed to look into these oddities. Though the pilots were not able to visually see anything, they were able to lock onto their targets. However, the UFOs moved so fast that the pilots could not keep up.
With around 13,500 witnesses, this event is considered one of the "most widely experienced" sightings of UFOs in this modern age.
