Peruvian authorities ended up interrupting a press conference in order to seize an alleged "pregnant" alien mummy.
Alien Mummy Showcase During Press Conference
The recent event was hosted by Jaime Maussan, a ufologist in Peru. During the conference, a novel "alien" specimen, dubbed Montserrat, was presented before the audience.
Maussan is known to have conducted prolific research on extraterrestrial phenomena. He was previously a headline hit due to his presentation of two alleged alien mummies before the Mexican congress in September 2023. These mummies were found in Nazca and Palpa in Peru in 2016.
For several weeks, the ufologist had been saying that there is clear proof of tridactyl mummies, which are said to have three fingers and toes.
Now, several months after his presentation, Maussan has unveiled the most recent discovery: a mummified being claimed to have been pregnant when she died.
The host claimed that the alien was expecting to have a tridactyl fetus, which Maussan affectionately named Rafael.
Peruvian Authorities Interrupt Conference To Seize 'Alien' Specimen
However, the event took a bizarre turn as authorities from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture interrupted the event with the goal of seizing the mummified bodies.
The officials were accompanied by specialized police officers and ended up interrupting the speech of journalist and researcher Jois Mantilla.
One of the officials explained that they were taking unexpected preventive efforts with the Specialized Cultural Heritage Police and the Ministry of Culture regarding the tridactyle mummy exhibition that was reported on social media.
However, confiscation plans ended up halted when the officials discovered that the actual, physical body was not brought to the event. Rather, Maussan and his colleagues were conducting a video presentation on the mummy. The officials were resultantly invited to watch the video with the audience.
The presentation covered the analysis of John McDowell, a retired professor and forensic odontologist from the University of Colorado. William Rodriguez, a forensic anthropologist at Maryland State Medical Examiner, and Dr. James Caruso, a Denver-based medical examiner, accompanied McDowell.
The speakers concluded that the bodies of the mummies must go through further investigation and that they cannot be entirely dismissed as fake.
Officials claim that the bodies are dolls that consist of human bones that grave looters could have dug up to sell in the black market.
Mich West, a science writer, explains that there are several reasons why Peruvian authorities may want to act against the alien mummy presented by Maussan. The writer adds that these potential cases include illegal transport of human remains, grave robbery, fraud, or archaeological artifact smuggling. However, in the meantime, things are yet to be seen.
This is not the only recent bizarre case of alien mummies. In March, some alien mummies apparently surfaced. The specimens were claimed to be three-fingered beings allegedly from Peru. This is according to filmmakers who say that they have conducted X-ray analysis on the corpses.
