President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump's first presidential debate has sparked concerns regarding the health condition of the current president.
The president, who is now 81 years old, has appeared to look feeble and faltering during his public ventures.
Did President Biden Even Blink?
In light of this turmoil, a viral X post made by billionaire Bill Ackman has piqued the interest of social media users. Ackman shared in the post that he observed that Biden did not blink even once during the presidential debate. He asked doctors to give their thoughts regarding the matter.
A reply was given by Roger D. Klein, who noted that diagnoses cannot be made based on television episodes. However, the President does show psychomotor retardation that has been linked to Parkinson's disease.
He also said that there are other medication conditions, such as frontotemporal dementia and vascular Parkinsonism, that should be factored into differential diagnosis.
A pharmacologist also thinks that it could be due to amphetamines. Another expert also questioned if it was due to Desoxyn, Ritalin, or Adderall, while another X user said that Biden exhibits all Parkinson's disease symptoms and hallmarks.
President Biden's Health
During the debate, Biden had a faltering appearance. He also spoke fast with a trailing-off and raspy voice that was clearly hoarse.
Back in February, the White House released the health report of President Biden, revealing that the President was responding well to sleep apnea treatment. The report also stated that the president is robust, active, and healthy and stays fit to execute the duties and obligations of the Presidency.
However, the report did not include a cognitive assessment or neuroimaging (MRI). This was a shocking gap, considering the medical history of the President.
The President has a history of a brain aneurysm that led to a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Due to this emergency condition, he needed to undergo two open surgical repairs. The operation involved now-outdated methods that could result in cognitive issues in the long run.
Biden has also been dealing with atrial fibrillation for several years.
During the recent presidential debate and other appearances, the President seemed to have impaired balance and physical unsteadiness. Some neurologists have noted that these conditions could result from Parkinson's disease with no tremor or from normal pressure hydrocephalus.
In light of the disastrous debate, the President may have to go through an in-depth assessment of these conditions as well as other related conditions. The American people also deserve to know the results of his assessments.
While the campaign of Biden has dismissed the president's shocking health displays as a common cold, others think that this is an absurd claim.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive health condition that affects nervous-managed body parts as well as the nervous system. Symptoms of this condition, including impaired balance, which President Biden was observed to display, gradually show up and worsen over time.
