Introducing Roku 4 With 4K Streaming And Updated OS7

Roku 4 had a much better and updated successor to Roku 3 devices, which have a hardware that supports 4K Ultra HDs and HD TVs and includes more memory, better WIFI connection, optical audio out, faster processor and more.

The Roku 4 updated hardware sports a Quad-core processor, up to 60 fps 4K streaming, HDCP 2.2, Optical Audio Output, 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi, 1080p home screen and user interface, Wi-Fi Direct-enabled remote control with voice search, headphone jack and Remote-Finder function, a companion app for iOS and Android with full device control, and 1.5 GB RAM, which is much larger that Roku 3 512 MB.

The unit also has a new Hotel and Dorm connect feature. This feature is great for both men and women who travel with Roku 4 since it allows the user to easily connect to the Wi-Fi portals, which require a browser-based login, thus using the Roku mobile app. Like its predecessor Roku 3, Roku 4 also boasts the same headphone jack, motion control with buttons for video games and voice search. It also has a lost remote finder, which is another fascinating feature.

The Roku 4 also sports an updated software, Roku OS7, which complements the hardware enhancements by making it easier for those with 4K TVs to find 4K videos, but it also introduces new ways to find and follow the content from Roku's growing selection of channels.

This updated OS will also be offered to other Roku devices in mid-October.

Regarding the offered channels and features of the Roku 4, streaming company CinemaNow accidentally pushed a customer service page live this week detailing a promotion that offered four free high-definition movie rentals with the purchase of the Roku 4. This promotion is specifically pointed to the participating warehouse club retailers that are selling the new Roku 4, which is scheduled to start on Oct. 1, 2015 and runs through Apr. 30, 2016. Much assured that with the offer of this new device, Roku provides hundreds of free channels and top streaming services.

The Roku 4 offered price is $129.99 MSRP, which is much pricier than Roku 3 that is $99.99.
