NASA’s Next Step For Mars

The National Aeronautics and Space administration (NASA) is a United States government agency responsible for the study of space and space travel. Recently, NASA has laid out its plan outlining its next steps in exploring Mars.

The report is titled NASA's Journey to Mars, Pioneering Next Steps in Space Exploration. The report stated that the project will carry out the direction given by NASA Act and in the U.S. National Space Policy in 2010. It is a 36-page report that consists of details of the plans of NASA for Mars further exploration.

The report explains the technology and infrastructure needed to make the Exploration of Mars possible. The plan indicated that its main goal is Earth Independence. Which means the agency wants people to actually stay on the planet. They referred it like the Apollo program that they embarked this mission for all humanity, but unlike its predecessor they will be going to stay there.

NASASpaceflight.com published last month about their proposed human to Mars vehicles and components with the possibility of using SLS. Space Launch System (SLS) is an under-development heavy lift rocket designed by NASA. It is a Space Shuttle-derived heavy expendable vehicle that also stands to take on the main space transportation role via fast-increasing flight rate that can support human missions to Mars.

NASA said that humans are going to Mars by 2030s, and apparently, the agency has not provided an exact detail about its plans for human exploration since the day they have announced that there is water in Mars. The process fueled public hunger for details.

The report also contains the overall plan and a recap of the utilization of ISS through 2024 during the Earth Reliant Phase. This phase is bound to low Earth orbit, thus validating the technologies which they are developing today and making them a huge part of future exploration plans.
