Google Partners With Ford For First Ever Driverless Car

Ford is one of the biggest car companies in the world. Just recently, however, it was announced that it has talked with Google on developing the world's first ever self-driving car.

In a report that came out from automotive news, it is revealed that the tech giant is having negotiations with the famous automaker in hopes of developing self-driving cars. If finalized, a plan could make a debut as early as January during the annual CES show.

According to Yahoo reports that if the partnership is successful, it would benefit the two companies big time. However, a spokesperson from Google did not confirm or deny the plan. All was said is that the company is doing various negotiations and recent talks to different global automakers.

Earlier this year, it has been reported that Google started talking to different leading automakers in its hope of bringing self-driving cars into the market. And just last June, the company saw a development of its plan when it tested a bubble-shaped prototype on the side of the mountain. The results, although needed more studies, showed a lot of promise.

Aside from the original plan, it is also reported that Google is hoping that once the self-driving cars are materialized, they could be used as stand-alone vehicles that will be open for business. The company will then place them under the care of its parent organization, the Alphabet Inc.

It has also been reported on Bloomberg that Google is planning to use it as a rival to ride-sharing competitors such as Lyft and Uber. Ford, on the other hand, has spent most of 2015 pushing itself towards the development of self-driving cars.

The partnership, if ever it pushes through, is said to be non-exclusive. And the venture will be a different project for Ford, in order to maintain its good name if ever something bad happens.
