Samsung Galaxy Book: Company's New Windows 10 Device

Samsung is developing a new Windows 10 device called the Samsung Galaxy Book. New application found in the Windows app store confirms the news.

As stated in MSPoweruser, the app description reads "Install 'Book Settings' which includes Battery Life Extender, Pattern Login, Screen mode, User manual and other Samsung features." Given that, Book Settings is an application for Samsung Galaxy Book and it may not perform well on other devices.

The description of the app indicates that Samsung Galaxy Book will have an active pen and AMOLED screen. Some people raised a question how it is connected with Samsung.

Answer to their question is, Samsung have a trademark for the Samsung Galaxy Book since 2012 which is for tablet computers, MP3 players, smartphones and mobile phones; computer software for instant messaging, sending and receiving emails and contact information, schedule and content sharing services; computer software for managing and organizing various digital reading contents, namely, e-books, e-newspapers, e-magazines and thesis; computer software for purchasing, subscribing, downloading, playing or listening to digital reading contents, and electronic games.

As written in The Verge, the app released by Samsung in the Windows Store is designed to provide additional settings for a stylus, AMOLED display, ability to add a pattern unlock like Android and a battery life extender. As there is a presence of a stylus and the book branding, this Windows 10 device is more of a regular tablet than the company's Surface-like TabPro convertible.

Windows never offered Pattern Log-in option in its devices before. Well, it is a suggestion for people not to test the Book Settings app on their devices as app description suggests it may not function normally on other devices.

Samsung is holding a press event at Mobile World Congress 2017 next week at Barcelona. Fans are expecting to hear more about the company's plan for Galaxy in 2017.
