LG G6 vs Google Pixel: Clash of The Android Titans

Recently, LG has come out all guns blazing with its new flagship phone, the LG G6. It is considered one of the best Android devices in the recent times. However, the experts are of the opinion that it is set to face some tough competition from the new Google Pixel XL.

According to Trusted Reviews, both LG G6 and Google Pixel have pretty attractive features. LG G6 has opted for a metallic unibody design, with a sleek glass and metal build, a slim structure and a fingerprint scanner on the flipside. The Google Pixel XL also comes with a metal and glass body and a fingerprint scanner on the back, with no physical buttons on the front, confining the user to on-screen navigation only. The Google Pixel XL has a 5-inch screen, smaller than the LG G6 (5.7 inches display) and is about 0.6 mm thicker than the later.

The LG G6 has a resolution of 1440X2880 pixels (564ppi), while the Google Pixel XL has a Full HD screen of 1080X1920 pixels (441ppi). Both phones run on the same Snapdragon 821 chipset, theoretically delivering the same performance, though it depends on their optimization. Google Pixel XL uses a 12.3-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture, whereas LG G6 has gone with a dual camera configuration (one with optical image stabilization), each one having 13 megapixel and a wider f/1.8 aperture than the Google Pixel XL.

LG G6 also consists of features like wireless charging that is not available on Google Pixel XL. It also has a bigger battery of 3300 mAh compared to 2770 mAh of Google Pixel XL. Waterproofing wise also, LG G6 has anIP68 rating compared to Google Pixel XL's IP53 rating.

According to Cnet, LG G6 offers Android OS Nougat 7.0, beaten marginally by Google Pixel XL using Android OS Nougat 7.1. Google Pixel XL also has an 8-megapixel front facing camera, while LG G6 has a 5-megapixel camera. Google Pixel comes with two variants of storage in 32GB and 128GB, while LG G6 only has 32GB storage.

Both the LG G6 and Google Pixel XL are flagship phones launched by their respective companies. The Google Pixel XL is supposed to be priced at $769 for 32GB and $869 for 128GB variants respectively. The price of LG G6 still remains announced.
