The upcoming iPhone 8 is billed by apple as the best iPhone ever, On the other hand, Google has confirmed its smartphone flagship Pixel 2. Reportedly these phones will arrive by this year's fall and take on each other vying for the customers with deep pockets.
According to Forbes, Apple iPhone 8 will be coming to the market with three configurations. Two of these are going to be updated versions of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, while the iPhone 8 will be having a 5.8 inch OLED display, the biggest that the company had to offer so far. It will reportedly abolish its top and bottom bezels in order to incorporate the super sized big screen, which will make it look smaller than the Apple iPhone 7.
Reportedly, Apple iPhone 8 is going to be the most expensive to have been released so far. It is also claimed that though the iPhone 8 will have a 5.8 inches screen, 5.15 inches will only be usable. The space left aside will sport a "function area" similar to the "Touch Bar" present on the new Apple MacBook Pro line, offering the user whatever they need based on their activities. This might see the iconic home button on iPhone 8 removed.
According to Mail Online, Google has confirmed the development of a second generation "Pixel" smartphone to compete with Apple iPhone 8. It will, like its first two editions, the Google Pixel and Pixel 2, will look to attract the premium segment of the market. The Google Pixel 2 is rumored to launch on almost the same time as Apple iPhone 8.
Price wise, both Apple iPhone 8 and Google Pixel 2 will make their reach deep into their pockets. The former versions, Google Pixel and Pixel XL are priced at $649 and $769 for the 32 GB variant respectively, while the 128 GB variants are priced at $749 for the Pixel and $869 for the XL. While the Apple iPhone 8 is speculated to cost $1000, the Google Pixel 2 will not be very far.
The Google Pixel 2 is supposed to sport 12.3 and 8-megapixel cameras and a full HD AMOLED Screen with Gorilla Glass protection. 15 mins of fast charging will last up to 7 hours on the phone. The Google Pixel 2 will have Google AI assistant, Allo for messaging and Duo for video calls.
