Medicine & TechnologyWhite-nose Syndrome (WNS)-This is a disease occurring in bats which is caused by the so-called cold-loving fungus called "Pseudogymnoascus destructans." It infects the skin of a hibernating bat's muzzle, wings, and ear.
Bats which are infected by this deadly fungus show white noses, spreading to wings, ear or tail. The fungus directly affects the bat's warm body temperature and the active immune system.
