Good news for Moto G series fans, Lenovo will launch its mid ranged smartphone Moto G5 Plus on March 31. Check out specs, features and price of the phone along with its comparison to its predecessor Moto G4 Plus.
Moto G4 Plus was released last year and became one of the most popular phablets because of its low price and convincing features. Motorola announced Moto G5 and G5 Plus last month at Mobile World Congress 2017.
Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Though it comes with a smaller screen, it weighs the same as G4 Plus. As written in Softpedia, Lenovo updated the chipset inside its mid-range Motorola smartphones line-up but the comparison cannot be done because of variable memory. Instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, new smartphone features more powerful Snapdragon 635 chip.
Customers will have the option to choose RAM (2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB) and internal memory (32 GB and 64 GB). Same way, Moto G4 Plus also gives the options but its cheapest model starts at 16 GB internal storage and goes up to 64 GB. All variants support microSD card for storage expansion up to 256 GB.
In terms of camera, Motorola claims that Moto G5 Plus features the most advanced in class camera as stated in Pocket-lint. It offers an improved 12-megapixel dual autofocus pixels primary camera with a color-balancing dual-LED flash in place of the 16-megapixel camera with phase detection and laser autofocus and a dual LED flash in G4 Plus.
There are no changes in the front-facing camera, there is the same 5-megapixel camera. Also, another similarity between Moto G5 Plus and G4 Plus is 3,000 mAH non-removable battery with TurboPower charging.
Moto G5 Plus runs Android 7.0 Nougat while G4 Plus comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow but with an update, both phones run same android version. The new phone comes with two color variants, Lunar Grey and Fine Gold while old one offered simple color variants black and white.
Standard Moto G5 Plus costs $229 that is $50 more than $180 G4 Plus. It is not much compared to powerful processor, advanced camera, and fingerprint sensor.
