Microsoft Vs. Apple Tablets: Surface Pro 4 Tops iPad Pro In J.D. Powers Survey As 2017's Best Tablet

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple's iPad Pro had been battling out each other as which is 2017's best tablet. Yet, finally, J.D. Power had revealed that the 2-in-1 device of Microsoft prevails in many aspects above Apple's top-tier tablet.

According to CNBC, J.D. Power had been conducting U.S. Tablet Satisfaction Studies for 6 years already. Yet, this year, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 had been revealed to top over Apple and Samsung. The Surface Pro 4 result was identified to be 855 out of 1,000 while Apple has 849 and Samsung with 847.

"The Microsoft Surface platform has expanded what tablets can do, and it sets the bar for customer satisfaction," J.D. Power's vice president of service industries, Jeff Conklin stated. "These tablet devices are just as capable as many laptops, yet they can still function as standard tablets. This versatility is central to their appeal and success."

The study regarding Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 trumping over iPad Pro this year was reported that its consumers like the size, appearance, display and quality of the tablet than Apple’s. “Variety of pre-loaded applications, internet connectivity, and availability of manufacturer-supported accessories” was then specifically mentioned in the study’s result.

Regarding the killer specs of both the 2 in 1 devices, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has a variety of 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB RAM models while the iPad Pro has only its 4 GB RAM model. The storage for both models was then said to be 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB for Surface Pro 4 while iPad Pro with 32 and 128 GB models.

The OS of both tablets, of course, differs as Microsoft Surface Pro 4 displays Windows 10 Pro while iPad Pro has its own iOS 91. The same goes with under the hood as Microsoft’s top tier tablet runs the dynamic Intel Skylake Core M3, Core i5, or Core i7 while Apple runs on the powerhouses 64-bit A9X and M9 processors as Know Your Mobile compared.

The cameras of the tablet then have a difference with Microsoft Surface Pro 4’s 8 MP front and 5 MP rear camera. While the iPad Pro has a front 1.2 MP 720p HD camera and a rear 8MP 1080p HD camera. Hence, the comparison led to Microsoft leading as it offers more options for its variety of powerful specs, features, more ports and models.

Yet, amid the result that tech consumers favor Microsoft tablets more than iPads, Apple had been the top in the market regarding tablet sales.
