Google Ends Nougat Beta For Android ‘O’ Beta Program

Google seems to have brought an end to active beta development for the existing Android Nougat operating system. The developer will now actively concentrate on improving their upcoming 'Android O' ecosystem for which the actual naming is yet unknown. People's choice has clearly been Android Oreo and will continue to be so until Google themselves make it public.

Google has already introduced beta developer preview for the majority of 'Google' devices that also include obsolete variants like the Nexus Player, Nexus 9 tablet, Nexus 5X and 6P smartphone that served as the previous generation flagship devices from the Mountain view firm. An update from the company revealed that Google will begin concentrating on their upcoming ecosystem making it better day by day. As noted by Phone Arena, the website for Android beta program now actively displays text thanking all beta testers for actively taking part in the developer program.

Beta testers are currently awaiting a second major software update that is expected to be rolled out over the air any time now, in the coming days. The Android Beta program by Google is exclusive to everyone using proprietary devices from the developer. Hence, buying a Google device has its own perks which the average joe might not find it beneficial.

While Google devices are specifically purchased by app developers for Google's services, it's popularity in the recent days has surged to new heights since Google has now begun manufacturing devices themselves unlike earlier where they collaborated with a hardware a manufacturer for their smartphones and tablets. The first beta preview for 'Android O' OS is already live where system images have been made available for all their devices.

Google also is holding a special developer in May this year with reports suggesting that the internet search giant will make their presence at the Moscone center like every year. Android ecosystem by Google still enjoys an active market share of over 80%. Now that their I/O event is nearing, all eyes are on the developer anticipating eagerly as to what they have in stock for this year.
