Chromebook Battles: Samsung Chromebook Pro v/s Asus Chromebook Flip C302A

Both Samsung and Asus have introduced their top of the line Google Chromebooks for a similar price, likely indicating a possible competition between the two. Samsung's latest announce is the Samsung Chromebook Pro and Asus has introduced the Chromebook Flip.

Both the devices have an excellent build quality, with better hardware onboard. Google recently announced that Chrome OS will now be supporting Android apps on all eligible devices. Comparing both of them side by side, a detailed report from Digital Trends indicate that both Samsung Chromebook Pro and the Asus Chromebook flip C302CAsupport external storage with the help of a microSD card.

Hardware specifications on both the models reveal an Intel Core M3 chip with 4GB of RAM. Graphical needs are taken care of, by Intel's integrated HD graphics 515 chip. Samsung Chromebook Pro has an LPDDR3 stick onboard compared to the standard RAM implemented on its competitor. There's an inbuilt HD webcam on both the models.

The report also suggests that audio on both the devices are fairly basic with average quality indicating that it's better to get an external speaker or a headphone whichever suits the purpose. Meanwhile, 9To5Google has come out with a detailed review for the Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA.

There's a USB Type-C port on the C302CA from Asus, while there are two ports on the Chromebook Pro from Samsung. Additionally, Samsung has also put in a stylus for the Chromebook Pro that, in-turn offers various on-screen features when pulled out. Asus has used a 12.5-inch display for their Chromebook with a resolution of 1080p while the Chromebook Pro is slightly smaller with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display but with a better resolution of 2400x1600.

Overall, it's a tough call to call the shots on the winner. For their selling price, both the Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA and the Samsung Chromebook Flip perform amazingly. However, the Chromebook Pro is slightly expensive compared to its competitor, but with increased ports, a stylus and a better display among the two.
