Microsoft's Corporate Vice President in charge for Surface devices, Panos Panay, in a statement has dismissed reports about the rumored Surface Pro 5 from the manufacturer. Previously, the general public had guessed that Microsoft would launch their new tablet lineup at their recent event, but instead, was surprised to learn about a more cheaper and weaker Surface Laptops primarily aimed at students.
The Redmond corporation has had tremendous success in selling their existing Microsoft Surface Pro 4 lineup. There were ongoing speculations about their popular Surface product being replaced by Microsoft Surface Pro 5. As noted from a report by Windows Latest, Panos said that the new Surface devices will be in the markets when the time is right.
That said, there is an imminent upgrade for the Surface Pro lineup now that both Intel and AMD has come out with better chips and better performing graphics. For those people doubting whether the Surface Pro 5 would be launched at their May. 23 event, reports from Neowin suggests Microsoft would most probably sell a more refreshed variant possibly with better computing and graphics chip onboard.
Microsoft in their latest event in New York unveiled a new set of Surface Laptops running a ccustomizedWindows 10 'S' operating system that mainly runs on apps installed only through the Windows Store. Due to enhanced security, the system cannot install any executable files whatsoever. The Surface Pro 5 lineup at least for some more time will not be in the news anymore now that Panos himself has cleared all doubts in mind.
Mr. Panay is pleased with device sales for their existing Surface Pro devices stating that he is sure of people using it for a period of at least five more years. Now that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 rumors are put to rest, Microsoft enthusiasts are still waiting on the manufacturer to announce the Surface phone that's been a hot discussion amongst many.
