Since the first buzz about it came in last year, Microsoft's Cortana-based speaker has been a subject for wide speculations. After some months or more, the ample rumored replacement to Amazon Echo and Google Home finally seems to make its way in the public domain. Microsoft, in association with its Internet of Things, program strategic partner: Harmon Kardon, recently unveiled its Cortana Assistant based speaker 'Invoke.'
According to TNW, Microsoft's voice assistant powered speaker is said to be capable of doing all the tasks similar to Amazon Echo. These include checking weather reports, delivering insights about traffic condition, playing music, delivering potential solutions to voice-based queries and commands, revealing news and updates and many other exciting kinds of stuff. The users who have already used Windows 10 based Cortana assistant earlier may be familiar with a certain number of features of it.
PC World further pointed that Harmon Kardon has equipped more advanced specifications in the speaker than its potential rivals. The report claims that Microsoft's Cortana-based 'Invoke' will boast three woofers alongside three tweeters, unlike Amazon Echo which sports one instance of each. Another surprising and intriguing part of 'invoke' is its incredible skype integration. The users will literally be able to take telephonic calls and evolve voice-based conference calls with their skype accounts through 'invoke.'
Apple is also getting set to announce its Siri-based speakers soon. Just before that Microsoft and Amazon seem to take this competition seriously. As the Redmond-based tech giant has unveiled its 'invoke' speaker and Amazon is also planning to launch the next instalment of Echo Speaker soon, the rivalry in this context is predicted to go on the higher stakes soon. However, Cortana powered 'invoke' will be released in the market at the fall of 2017.
