Google has always been more enthusiastic in bringing new software upgradations frequently. That knack hasn't been any different in the case of its Android operating system updates as well. The latest move in the same context just came in where the tech giant announced the permanent discontinuation of its Android Nougat beta program. Besides this, Google also announced that it will launch its next-gen Android 'O' beta Program very soon.
According to BGR, the first instance of Android O was rolled out by Google back in March 2017 as it primary Developer Preview. The company is just days away from its next I/O 2017 developer conference, which is scheduled to held on May 17, 2017. The company has also promised to demonstrate some new features and changes to be seen on Android O. The Android O Beta is hinted to be rolled out by sometime between May and June, this year.
ETTech pointed Google's notes on its official Android Beta Program website where it stated: "The beta for Android Nougat has concluded, and all devices that were opted in have been updated to the current public version." also adding "We'll update this site when the Android O Beta Programme begins." Potential sources claimed that like Android O's Developer Preview, Android O Beta Program will be exclusive to a certain range of Android smartphones like Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P. and Nexus Player.
Though Google refused to release Android O Developer Preview via OTA, by merely offering it as a manually downloadable update. The company is now expected to roll out Android O Beta Program as an OTA update only. However, the final edition of Android O will be served by Google, after going through few more checking protocols in two stages. The official unveiling of Android O may take the fall of 2017.
