Finally, AMD has confirmed the official launching of its Radeon RX Vega graphics card in July. The said launching will follow the release date of the Frontier Edition, along with the inclusion of the Ryzen with the AMD roadmap.
According to The Inquirer, AMD was planning to release the Frontier Edition in late-June. Frontier Edition is the company's next-generation graphics card. Meanwhile, after the said release date of the Frontier Edition, the AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics card is said to be launched on the following month.
Korea Portal reported that AMD CEO Lisa Su confirmed the much-awaited launch date of the AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics card in July. The big news will be announced at the 45th annual J.P. Morgan Global Technology Media and Telecom Conference. Along with it, CEO Lisa Su repeated the previously revealed AMD's long-term roadmap a week ago at the Financial Analyst Day.
Reports claim that AMD is committed to launching the very first AMD Radeon RX Vega in July right after the release date of its Frontier Edition. More so, AMD has a plan to serve the entire industries of graphics card through the Radeon RX Vega along with the Radeon Pro professional graphics card Radeon Instinct that is designed for Artificial Intelligence acceleration.
More so, AMD said in an interview at the JP Morgan Conference that it will be taping out some 7nm products at the end of the year. This will serve as the preparation for the 2018 launch of the AMD Zen 2 and Zen 3 in 2020.
Su said that she wanted to give the customers and investors a "sustainable roadmap" for both the CPU and GPUs. Furthermore, she mentioned that both the CPU and GPUs that will be in the roadmap will come with multiple leapfrogging generations and teams for the benefits of the AMD to work on multiple generations at a time. "As we add AMD Ryzen along with the Radeon RX Vega to the roadmap for the desktop this year, as well as for the notebook next year, AMD is very optimistic about the results," Su declared.
