It seems that more than a few minutes these days there are about five new conspiracy theories on the internet. For example, a new conspiracy theory regarding the giant humans found in Rome has been circulating the internet these days.
According to these conspiracy theories, Vatican - in conjunction with the Smithsonian, no less - is hiding the truth about the existence of the gigantic human skeletons, which confirms their existence and therefore messing up the evolutionary tree of humans.
They even provided evidence in the form of the worst photoshop that will not even pass to any graphic artist.
Debunking the Conspiracy Theory Using Square-Cube Law
According to a Twitter post by user Reality is the only check I get (@Mirkked), the Vatican and the Smithsonian destroyed most and threw some of the giant skeletons they found into the ocean since having to explain how they existed contradicts the evolution of mankind.
Giant skeletons found by the thousands. The Vatican and The Smithsonian destroyed most and threw some into the bottom of the ocean. Because having to explain how they existed contradicted the evolution of mankind from apes. What we've been led to believe. While some accepted the theory, but there are still many who are making fun of it.
This would not pass in my design classes. Please clean up with clone stamp. pic.twitter.com/qmB5sYGkns — Stodgy Seagull (@feedmeshrimp) July 8, 2020
The user even attached a badly photoshopped picture. This was noticed by other Twitter users commenting that even in their design classes, the picture will not pass and even gave a piece of advice to clean up the picture with stamp.
As it turns out, the photo was from a competition way back in 2002 which asked contestants to create a fake archaeological discovery using photoshop.
The fake archaeological discovery cannot happen because of the square-cube law, which states that as the size of any object grows, its volume grows faster than its surface area. The area is directionally proportional to the square of the size of any object. Likewise, the volume scales up in proportion to the cube of the area's size.
This means that when the size of humans increases, its volume also increases dramatically in proportion to the size. For example, a 60 feet tall person needs the body to adjust to support 100 times its volume.
A cubic inch of bone can support 19,000 pounds (8,600 kilograms), but at 180 meters tall, the body would need to support over 551,000 pounds (250, 47 kilograms). Essentially, if the Vatican wanted to cover up someone as big as this, the bones would have crumbled into dust because of the weight before that point.

Skeleton of the First Person With Gigantism Found in Rome
There may be conspiracy theories regarding those gigantic skeletons found in the Vatican. But in 2012 the National Geographic featured a six feet, eight inches tall man who would have been regarded a giant during his time in the third century A.D. Rome, where men were only about five feet and a half tall. Contrary to today's tallest man who measures eight feet and three inches tall.
To prove that the skeleton had gigantism, the archaeologists examined the bones and found that the skull damage is consistent with a pituitary tumor, which disturbs the pituitary gland and causes the overproduction of the human growth hormone.
Other pieces of evidence such as the disproportionately long limbs and the evidence that the bones were still growing even in its early adulthood support the gigantism diagnosis. Moreover, his early death, likely between the age of 16 and 20, might also point to gigantism which is linked to cardiovascular diseases and respiratory problems, said Simona Minozzi, a paleopathologist at Italy's University of Pisa.
