Elon Musk recently gave another controversial insight regarding the use of prescription drugs for the treatment of mental health conditions. The Tesla CEO apparently published in his latest tweets that he does not advocate the use of prescription drugs, showing a tactic similar to a well-known anti-drug program called DARE.
Elon Musk Warns People Who Use Prescription Drugs
In previous weeks, the SpaceX boss became a topic again for his intent to purchase stocks of the social media platform Twitter. But in this new controversy, the billionaire discussed a different topic that concerned communities from the medical industry.
According to Elon Musk's tweets last Thursday, he dislikes the use of a batch of mental health prescription drugs. This set includes Wellbutrin, Adderall, Ritalin, and other antidepressants that are associated with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs, reports Futurism.
In one of Elon Musk's tweets, the tech giant explained that Adderall is an 'anger amplifier,' and it should be 'avoided at all costs.'
Wellbutrin, according to Elon Musk, is much worse than Adderall. The Tesla boss also summarized an event in which a friend of his emailed him the negative experiences of Ritalin.
I am reposting this to say, wellbutrin is not just one of the most favored meds by my patients bc it’s weight neutral/negative,energy giving,& has low sexual SE…and IT WORKS…

It is also the med I’ve been on since college.
And helps me help others. https://t.co/SKI4Gx4Hsq pic.twitter.com/7o2Vu54kkj
In a bizarre twist, the billionaire seems to prefer the use of ketamine and psychedelic drugs as treatments for people that struggle with mental health concerns. In other statements, Elon Musk also made arguments about the use of stimulants, as if that depressed individuals that use this drug have genocidal behaviors.

Truth About Mental Health Medications
The US Food and Drug Administration approves the use of Adderall in treating patients with ADHD. in addition, the drug could support people who are challenged with careless mistakes, lack of attention, and poor listening.
Ritalin is a separate drug that is also used for ADHD patients and has been in the medical industry since 1954. The FDA says that the drug is effective to reduce the impulsivity of a person.
Wellbutrin is a commonly used antidepressant drug that also contains SSRIS properties. These three choices discussed by Elon Musk are developed and distributed by Duramed Pharmaceutical, Inc., Novartis, and Bausch Health, respectively.
Elon Musk's statements got a lot of attention from various communities that are supported by these well-established drugs. However, the insights given by the SpaceX CEO might be rooted in the infamous side effects that are not considered well by its users.
For example, Adderall could cause loss of appetite and must not be usually prescribed for people with cardiovascular issues.
Ritalin also presents a long list of side effects, while Wellbutrin use, according to FDA, could induce suicidal thoughts in patients.
Elon Musk's recent tirades, as always, were accompanied by facts about the efficacy of the medications despite the downsides they have. The billionaire was quick to say that these drugs have saved countless lives.
In response to Elon Musk's controversial series of tweets, psychiatry specialist Jessi Gold testified that the drugs, especially Wellbutrin, work for their patients as regular treatments. The doctor said that the medication had been part of her life since college, and it really helped her to help others, too.
