Once more, Elon Musk has tweeted about the Red Planet. This time, the billionaire makes the assurance that people will visit Mars in their lifetime.
Elon Musk Remains Positive About People Visiting Mars Soon
In a Twitter thread, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is upbeat and confident that people would fight for themselves even in the absence of a shared objective.
"Moon brought us together in '69, Mars can do that in the future," Musk added.
Reports mention that Elon Musk laid down his plans of having a Mars colony several times, but his much-awaited project is still in the planning stages.
After the US government completed an environmental study of SpaceX's enormous, futuristic Starship, which was built for the Red Planet, his Mars mission just moved one step closer to realization.
The Mars project has in the past drawn criticism from certain campaigners. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, said last year (per Science Times) that protecting the planet should take precedence over space travel.
Royal Astronomer Professor Lord Martin Rees also criticized the SpaceX CEO over his plan to populate Mars, calling it a "dangerous illusion." Still, Musk remained upbeat regarding the human exploration of Mars.
Elon Musk's Previous Plans For Mars
Elon Musk stated last month per Insider that his space company SpaceX plans to construct over 1,000 Starships to carry life to Mars.
Musk, who also owns Starlink, had said that expanding life to other planets will support Earth's ecosystems, and he had added that no other species, except humans, is capable of bringing life to Mars.
Musk stated his Starship designs will be "modern Noah's Arks," which may rescue "life from a calamity on Earth." Musk was alluding to the Biblical patriarch Noah, who constructed an Ark that survived the catastrophic flood on Earth.
To transport passengers and goods to Mars, the moon, and other planets, SpaceX is creating Starship.
A first-stage rocket named Super Heavy and an upper-stage spaceship dubbed Starship make up the vehicle.
According to Mashable, Musk previously stated that his SpaceX ship will land on Mars in 2029 while the project is still in the planning phases. A Mars landing was once predicted to occur by the middle of the 2020s.
Reports mentioned that the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has set 75 conditions for the first orbital flight test of Starship, and SpaceX has yet to receive a launch license.
The Starship, which is over 120 meters (400 feet) tall, is the most powerful rocket ever constructed and is intended to ferry humans to the Moon and Mars. It will be used by NASA for a manned lunar landing that is scheduled in 2025.
