Cancer is an epidemic and viral disease that has affected the world., and is recognized annually as February 4 is observed as 'World Cancer Day.' From breast cancer to blood cancer, the disease has life threatening impacts.

Cancer is an illness that not only gives physical and bodily pain to its victims but also severely affects the mental health of the patients. Hair loss is one of the heart breaking side effects of cancer therapy, which destroys the mental health of its female victims.

Hair-saving treatments are currently being widely used in Europe. This treatment involves the recently developed Frozen Caps, which one firmly puts on the head before and during chemotherapy. Having and wearing Frozen Caps is considerably expensive and uncomfortable but it allows patients to maintain their full hair. Ms.Bruno, a breast cancer patient, said that she was quite worried about losing her hair. Using the cold cap, described as an ice pack firmly fixed on the head like a swim cap, helped her keep her hair.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma NPC is the third most common cancer among Chinese males. Researchers at University of Birmingham are developing engineered cells, called immune cells or T cells, to improve the treatment of NPC patients.

The latest innovation in cancer treatment is a hi-tech bra capable of delivering cancer drugs to its patients. This wearable drug, developed by Sarah Da Costa,a Central St. Martin's student, delivers the medicine locally, thus preventing side-effects like nausea and hot flushes.
