Gear S2 A Legitimate Threat For Apple And Android Wear

The Korean tech giant Samsung now offers the public with a classically designed second-generation smartwatch that is feature packed and has a classic look with metal body frame. The tech savvy consumers always looked for a wearable device that is both feature pack and with a classy design and architecture. Most of the smartwatches offered in the market today have a candy bar look or a glossy plastic finish.

The Korean company has completely ditched its rectangular design like the ones that Apple has offered and has gone with the more generic and classy design that has metal chassis. It is the first of Samsung's watches that has a rounded body frame. Same as most smart watches, the Gear S2 is compatible with Android OS and runs with Tizen.

The Gear S2 offers a lot of wrist gestures, same as Apple watches. The Gear S2 also offers a 1.2 inch AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 302 ppi, which is the greatest smartwatch resolution. Although Apple's offering gives the same resolution in its square design does not appeal to the majority of the public, which prefers the rounded stainless feel architecture offered by Samsung - not to mention that the device houses a rotating bezel used to navigate it with ease.

The Gear S2 is enabled with S-voice, making the device capable of some simple voice commands. Its screen is coated and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and an IP68 rated dust and water resistant that become more evident that the device is also designed for endurance. Added in the basic feature is the S Health and Nike running integration that is very useful for those people who use it for their fitness program.

Samsung's Gear S2 is currently offered at $299.99, which is cheaper than the USD $349 Apple watch.
