2017 Formula 1 Renault RS17: The First Real Racing Car Of Modern Era

Renault bosses are very confident after they reveal RS17. They want to make an impact on 2017 Formula 1 season.

As written in BBC, Renault's technical officer Bob Bell said that he regards the RS17 as "the first real Renault Formula 1 car of the modern era" after finishing ninth in 2016. Renault targets a fifth place in 2017 Formula 1 as per sports boss Jerome Stoll.

Last year, Renault was focused on rebuilding the team and added about 200 employees. Unlike now, the company has the target to battle for the world championship by 2020. Talking about the past, Renault won back-to-back world titles with Fernando Alonso in 2005 and 2006. It is hoping to perform well in 2017 Formula 1.

Currently, there are two drivers for this year. New signing Nico Hulkenberg from Germany who joins from Force India and Jolyon Plamer is continuing after his maiden season with Renault in 2016. They will drive Renault's latest RS17 in 2017 Formula 1.

Renault's performance metrics show that it made gains in a strong and consistent manner throughout its development. RS17 is sophisticated and its pre-season testing will start on February 27, 2017, at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain. Fans are excited to see RS17 in 2017 Formula 1.

Renault hopes to catch Mercedes on engine performance by 0.3 seconds per lap. According to Red Bull team Principal Christian Horner, it is a brand new engine for 2017. Renault is expected to become title contender very soon and it is heavily depended on 2017 Formula 1 performance.

As stated by Sky Sports, following is the Renault's team for 2017 Formula 1 is Race driver: Nico Hulkenberg and Jolyon Plamer; Reserve driver: Sergey Sirotkin; President: Jerome Stoll; Managing director: Cyril Abiteboul; Chief technical officer: Bob Bell; Chassis technical director: Nick Chester and Engine technical director: Remi Taffin. This newly rebuilt team is under pressure to give their best as last year's performance was poor.

Renault appointed four-time world champion Alain Prost as a special adviser to the executive committee of Renault Sports F1. Renault was placed 9th out of 11 teams in the Constructors' Championship last time. Well, the company is very confident to achieve higher rank at 2017 Formula 1 by its RS17.
