Honor 9: New Image Leaks Confirm Absence of 3.5mm Audio Jack

Huawei is all but ready to launch their upcoming smartphones into the markets. Their next smartphone is the Honor 9 which has been leaked online on numerous occasions indicating a lot of feature and specifications of the new smartphone from the Chinese firm. In a recent leak, the images have confirmed one of the color choices of the new device.

Huawei Honor 9 will be offered in black color as per reports from GSMArena. Sources close to the website has revealed the image renders of the smartphone which gives an insight as to how the next smartphone from Huawei will look like. The phone has been pictured from various angles.

Huawei Honor 9 will be coming out with a USB Type-C for data transfer and charging the device. At the bottom of the smartphone apart from the port, there are two speaker grills which are expected to be equipped with both, a microphone on the left as well the speaker on the right. This is a common practice in most of the latest smartphones released nowadays.

A report from GizBot revealed the Huawei Honor 9 will not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. Moto led the way of removing the audio jack but however, they offered a 3.5mm audio jack to USB-C port connector in order to facilitate users in using their earphones. Apple then 'courageously' followed suit.

The design of the Huawei Honor 9 is very similar to its predecessor with a front-facing camera, a proximity sensor on the front. The rear portion will include a dual-lens camera with laser auto focus assistance. The power buttons on the new smartphone remain unchanged in terms of its placement on the device.

The reports mention that the upcoming Huawei Honor 9 smartphone will be equipped with a HiSilicon Kirin 655 chipset. A major change in design is that the fingerprint sensor will now be relocated to the front portion of the device, embedded in the home button, unlike earlier models.
