Microsoft Surface Pro and Samsung Galaxy Book are two of the latest type of devices that are creating a big buzz in the online news as of late. Both devices are said to be boosted by the latest specs and features that make them a good competition to each other. The question now is, who will win between the two newly released tablet designed device?
The Microsoft Surface Pro has been the Redmond-based company luxurious device because of its 2-in-1 detachable feature that can be a tablet and laptop in one. Due to the Surface Pro popularity, other giant tech companies have followed suit and one of those is Samsung. A couple months ago, the South Korean based company launched the Samsung Galaxy Book.
The Samsung Galaxy Book was introduced last February together with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. It is Samsung's answer to the Microsoft Surface Pro, who is the first of its kind on the said platform. And now, let's take a look at both devices as to who will emerge on the top based on its specifications and special features.
According to Digital Trends, Microsoft Surface Pro seems to have the edge over the Samsung Galaxy Book based on portability and convenience. Though the Galaxy Book is more lightweight than the Surface Pro, other features like battery life, performance, heat and weight distribution was also considered giving the latter the advantage.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Book takes the upper hand over the Microsoft Surface Pro based on connectivity option. The Galaxy Book sports a two USB 3.1 Type-C ports and the essential 3.5mm headphone jack while the Surface Pro only have a 3.0 Type-A port. The Surface Pro has the clear advantage on its hardware as it is powered by a seventh generation Intel Core i7-7660U as against the Galaxy Book Core i5 chipset.
SlashGear further added that the Microsoft Surface Pro offers a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with a 2736 x 1824 resolution while the Samsung Galaxy Book features a 12-inch Super AMOLED display which basically a tie for both devices. Same goes to the operating system, as both devices will run using the Windows 10 Pro software.
The Microsoft Surface Pro got the slight edge over the Samsung Galaxy Book on its battery functionality. The Surface Pro battery could last up to 13.5 hours while the Galaxy Book's 39.04Wh battery could only last for 9 to 11 hours. Based on this, it is up to the consumer who will they choose between the two top-tier tablets today.
