China’s AI Can Read a Person's Mind to Identify ‘Untrustworthy’ People

Researchers in China recently claimed they have developed software that can acutely analyze facial expressions and brain waves to monitor if people were attentive to "thought and political education."

According to News.com.au, the Chinese government is now executing cutting-edge artificial intelligence to monitor the minds of dozen officials of the Communist Party.

The stringent police state of China has been radically upscaled over the last ten years, using large data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and face recognition technology to develop what many have labeled the most complicated digital dictatorship in the world.

The Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center stated that the high-tech development would be able to solidify further their confidence and determination to be thankful to the party, listen to it, and follow it.

'Technology in the Kiosk'

In a short video clip, the subject was seen staring at a screen at a kiosk, scrolling through exercises that promoted party policy.

The researchers explained that the technology in the kiosk could note the participants' expressions and pinpoint their reactions to specific pieces of content.

The institute said it had encouraged more than 43 members of the party in the research group to take party lessons while the new software was monitoring them. The video was posted online on July 1 though it has vanished since.

On one hand, according to reports, the software can judge how party members have accepted thought and political education. Then, on the other hand, it will offer real data for thought and political education so it can be enhanced and enriched.

Identifying 'Untrustworthy' People

Tapping on a person marked on the map exhibits his personal information, including his full name, court-case number, and the reason he is identified as "untrustworthy."

According to Horizon, the system's implementation for corporations, called "corporate social credit rating," is particularly advanced, a new similar End of Time Headlines report said.

In addition, a report outlining the consequences of low credit scores stated that over 33 million businesses in China have already gotten a score below some version of the corporate social credit system.

China, in recent weeks, has reportedly aimed at "standardizing" a rewards system to motivate the public to report crimes and boost their score.

Technology That Helps Identify Serious Threats to National Security

A Legal Daily report said that Chinese citizens could be given "spiritual rewards" in the form of certificates of appreciation or up to 100,000 yuan, depending on the usefulness of the information.

It added, that the formulation of measures is facilitative to completely mobilizing the enthusiasm of the general public to support and assist in national security work, widely rallying the people's strength, wisdom, morale, and hearts, a representative from the ministry of state security in China said last month.

The ministry has also urged regular citizens to stay vigilant about the threat of "foreign intelligence agencies."

Foreign intelligence agencies in particular, as well as all kinds of hostile forces, have visibly strengthened their infiltration activities in China, explained to the ministry, warning external influences pose a serious threat to national security.
