While everyone around the globe was focusing on Samsung's announcement of upcoming flagship smartphones, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, there were some people who were waiting for their devices' Android Nougat 7.0 update. Samsung started rolling out latest Android OS update on Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
According to Go Android, after Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge gets the Android Nougat, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ users have reported receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. This new update comes with March Android Security patch as well that includes various bug fixes and device performance optimization.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Android 7.0 Nougat update includes split-screen multitasking, improved Google keyboard, customisable quick settings, enhanced notifications and recent multiplications window. When users double tap on the Recent Button, they can switch between two recent apps that is useful in many ways. New 'Doze on the go' will get activated when updated device is in the pocket to improve battery life.
According to Neowin, the update began rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ last week, and now, many users across Europe have reported receiving the update on their handsets. Latest update bumps up the firmware version to G928FXXU3CQC2 and OS to Android 7.0 Nougat from Android Marshmallow.
Two years old Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be more attractive with the update now. The update is more than 1 GB in size, so users are recommended to download the update on Wi-Fi network only. Also, users must charge the handset more than 50 percent to avoid the system crash by power off.
If the update doesn't pop up automatically, users need to go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update for manual update. Not every Samsung Galaxy S6 phones' users will receive the update, as the update is OTA (over-the-air), it might take some time before it reaches them.
