The competition for the best TV is on. Two giant television makers are said to be offering their finest products this year, Sony XBR series and Samsung QLED model. So which of these two 4K TV consumers should buy that has high quality but with an affordable price?
Television or TV is a telecommunication mass medium for entertainment, news, advertisement and other forms of media. Year after year, Sony, and Samsung, two of the leading multinational conglomerate in the world, have battle it out to produce first-class television production. And 4K TV like the Sony XBR series and Samsung QLED is the latest product line for the two company.
4K TV or Ultra HD TV is the newest technology for the television products. It has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels that is four times the 1,920 x 1,080 pixels of a full HD TV. This new design is now being used by Sony and Samsung to their modern TV merchandise. Here's how Sony XBR series and Samsung QLED model compared to each other.
According to Tech Radar, Sony XBR or Sony Bravia XBR is a 4K TV that is using an LCD with an edge LED Lighting, local dimming, and Sony's latest Slim Backlight Drive technology. It also has an HDR10 and Dolby Vision performance which is just like the Samsung QLED models. It also runs as a Smart TV but it doesn't fully support an Android TV interface.
Many say that the Android TV system is still in a crumbling state and needs to be improved but Sony guarantee that the Sony XBR still serve the 4K and HDR version of Youtube, Netflix, and Amazon. Prices range of 43 inches to 55 inches is $1,299 to $2,499. So, what the Samsung QLED model offers to consumers?
According to Trusted Reviews, Samsung QLED, just like the Sony XBR, is an LCD TV with a QLED technology and native UHD resolution. It also has an Edge LED lighting with local dimming and supported by the HLG HDR. The four HDMIs carries the 4K and HDR design and has the latest 'Eden' smart TV interface.
QLED technology is Samsung's newest Quantum Dot innovation that the company claims would result in a wide color range, enhanced brightness and contrast and improved viewing angles. However, Samsung QLED model only offers 55 inches to 75 inches dimension with prices range from $2,500 to $6,000.
Head to head both the Sony XBR and Samsung QLED are really high-quality TV's but it appears that the former have a slight edge to the latter based on some feature and price. But, both 4K TV sits right next to LG OLED TV as among the top competition on the market.
